Joyce Elaine (Young) Nicholas, 83, of Maryville, Missouri was reunited with her Loved Ones in Heaven, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Joyce was born on April 3, 1942, in St. Joseph to Charles H. and Frankie O. (Siemiller) Young, Sr.

She was a 1962 graduate of Rapid City South Dakota High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Joyce served as the Director of Christian Education in several Methodist Churches throughout Missouri and Nebraska, during her early career. She decided to return to the Maryville area in the late 1970's and eventually settled in Pickering, Missouri. Once again following in her mother's footsteps, as well as her brother Charles', Joyce was called into Ministry and she served as Pastor of the Parnell United Methodist Church until her retirement.

While living in Pickering, Joyce met and married Leland Maurice Nicholas, the two married on December 9, 1979. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1992. Joyce was the youngest child of the 'Young Family' and was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers; Eugene Young, Charles H. Young, Jr., Richard Young, and Robert Young, Sr.

Surviving Family Members include Joyce's four Nieces; Valerie Cisneros (Gilbert) and Linda Arthur, both of Hutto, Texas, Jill Runyan (Richard) of Tallahassee, Florida and Lori England of Pensacola, Florida; four Nephews, Robert Young, Jr. of Buckeye, Arizona, Dennis Young (Donna) of St. Joseph, Jeff Young (Dennette) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Shane Young (Laura) of Greta, Nebraska; along with numerous Great and Great, Great nieces and nephews. In addition, Joyce leaves behind her Best Friend and neighbor, Sue Garms of Maryville, Missouri.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Maryville.
