Beth Nicholas Obituary
Beth H. Nicholas passed away on January 28, 2026. She was born September 26,1933 to Lee Oney Harbison and Myrtie Gladys Strickland. She was married to Gordon Nicholas for 54 wonderful years. She was a member of Okeechobee Church of Christ and a resident of Okeechobee for over 53 years. She owned the Co-Op Antiques with her dear friend Egretta Wells and Okeechobee Coin Laundry from 1972 to 1992. Beth found joy in spending precious time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Nicholas; parents, Lee Oney Harbison and Myrtie Gladys Strickland; baby daughter, Phoebe Ann Nicholas; and sisters, Flora Sullivan and Clyrene McSwain.
She is survived by her sons, Philip Nicholas (Brenda) of Jackson, Tennessee and Nathan Nicholas (Nancy) of Milan, Tennessee; daughters, Danita Esdale (David) of Trenton, Tennessee and Andrea Whitlock (Mark) of Okeechobee, Florida; grandchildren, Jeremy Nicholas, Michelle Ciapponi, Nicholas Esdale, Morgan Littlejohn, Savanna Whitlock, Cameron Whitlock, Jenny Nicholas, Tricia Nicholas, and Jacob Nicholas; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Okeechobee Church of Christ. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
While your generosity is appreciated, the family respectfully asks that memorial contributions be made to Mount Dora Children's Home located at 301 West 13th Avenue, Mount Dora, Florida.
