Joyce Loretta Revis Parker, 89, of Nebo fell asleep in the arms of Jesus, at her home with her loving family by her side on March 1st, 2026.
She was born in Marion, North Carolina on the first day of the second month 1937 to the late Luther and Pearl Revis. Joyce loved the Lord and faithfully and obediently served him. She was a long time and faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church of Marion until her health started to decline. Through life’s struggles she never lost her faith in her Lord and Savior.
She was an avid fan of wrestling and hardly missed a match. She enjoyed spending her time working jigsaw puzzles and playing games on her Ipad. She also enjoyed going to town, especially a trip to Hobby Lobby in Forest City. But her favorite activity was spending time with her family who she was so proud of and loved with all her heart. She spent her life as a homemaker and made sure everyone always felt at home when they came to visit.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life of 47 years Clesser Don Parker, her son Jerry Don Parker, and a son-in-law Mike Durkee. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Edward, Leo, Carl, and Harold Revis, and a sister Margorie Revis.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her daughters Gail Durkee and Donna Cable (Tim). Granddaughter Dawn Buchanan (Eugene). Grandsons Wayne Durkee (Clorissa), Earl Durkee (Stephanie), and Jonathan Cable (Beth). Great Granddaughters Cheyenne Buchanan, Riley Cable, Brittany Smith (Kevin), and Bethany Hollifield (Joshua). Great Grandsons Cody Durkee (Alyson), Deven Buchanan, Raylyn and Jon-River Cable. Great Great Granddaughters Cora-Ruth Hollifield, Adisyn, Khloe, and Bella Smith. Great Great Grandson Nehemiah Hollifield. Sister-In-Law Ann Revis, and a number of nieces and nephews. Special friends Brenda Brown, Faye Mann, and Tammy Byrd.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Rick Wood, Jonathan Cable, and Joshua Hollifield officiating. Interment will follow at Solid Rock Mission Church Cemetery.
