Joyce Pruitt

Joyce Pruitt, 94, of Freeport, IL., passed away Thursday May 30, 2024 in Rockford, IL with her daughter and sister by her side. She was born June 29, 1929 in Freeport, IL., to Eli and Romania (Dallas) Lenoir. Joyce married Lenon Pruitt on October 9, 1951. Lenon passed away February 28, 1960. Joyce was a member of First Church of God in Freeport.
She is survived by her son, Ricky (Lynn) Pruitt of Freeport; daughter, Annette Bluett of Rockford, IL; sister, Eva Craig of Freeport; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Lenoir.
Preceding Joyce in death is her husband; three sons, Tommy L. Johnson Jr., Alvin L. Johnson-Crawford, and Arnold R. Johnson-Givens; brothers, Kenneth Lenoir and Clinton Lenoir; two sisters, Cynthia Carter and Doris Adams; and special friend, Orlando Lowery.
Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday June 7, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, IL. Bishop J. Arthur Wade, Rev. Everlena Thurmond, and Apostle Michael Sowell will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial of cremated remains will be at Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Joyce's memory.
