Joyce Rife, born on January 4, 1942, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 29, 2024. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Adams, and great-granddaughter, Delilah Berry.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Ronald Rife, son, Scott Rife (Heather), son-in-law Estel Adams, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, siblings, Donna Gaddie (John), Robert Davidson Jr. (Ann), Kathy King (John), Sharon Stahl (David), numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joyce was an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church. She took many trips with her church family. She loved to travel and especially loved her family trips to Hawaii.
She had a career as a bookkeeper and was part-owner of Vena Marks Accounting. She played bunco, liked to crochet, read novels, watched cooking shows and loved Home Interior. In the summer, she could be found canning vegetables from their garden.
Joyce enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also held her extended family together by hosting the family reunion for over 30 years.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 5, 2024 at the funeral home with visitation to follow after service until 8:00 pm.
At Joyce’s request, please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Green Acres Baptist Church.
