Joyce Ann Rinaldi

LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER
Joyce Ann (Hicock) Rinaldi, age 85 passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side, on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was the loving wife, soulmate, and one and only love of Henry I. Rinaldi.
Born on May 5, 1939 in Waterbury, Joyce was the daughter of the late Everett Stiles Hicock and Anna (Shulzinsky) (Hicock) Famiglietti and the stepdaughter of the late Louis Famiglietti. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and Waterbury Catholic High School.
A proud lifelong registered nurse, Joyce graduated from the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1959. She went on to work as a Neo-Natal Nurse in the Special Care Nursery in Waterbury Hospital for 45 years until her retirement.
An outstanding cook, Joyce loved cooking for her family, hosting holidays, taking vacations by the ocean, camping with Von, Carmen, Ellie, Eddie, Jay, and Richie and their families, as well as dining out with family and friends. She was an avid reader and had a sincere appreciation for nature.
In addition to Henry, her husband of 65 years, Joyce is survived by her children Lisa Chasse and her husband Eric of Terryville and Mark Rinaldi and his partner Kristen Cosciello of Rhode Island; her grandchildren Rachel Donahue and her husband Patrick, Lee Schmidt II and his girlfriend Kristiana, Matthew Rinaldi, and Nicholas Rinaldi; and her precious great-granddaughter Hadley Donahue, who always made her smile until the very end. She also leaves her brother-in-law Richard Rinaldi and his wife Jay of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews including her nieces Andrea Angulo and her husband Edwin of Wolcott and Leslie Campagna and her husband Tony of Canada. She was predeceased by her son David Rinaldi, brothers Pasquale Famiglietti, Louis Famiglietti, Jr., and Edward Hicock, and her sisters Shirley Famiglietti and Josephine Vitone.
Joyce's funeral will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 8:30am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to St. Michael's Church for a Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with the family Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30am at the funeral home.
