Joyce Roark Obituary
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Mary Ann Garten of Trenton; four brothers; 3 sisters; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Roark (Hope), Heather Willis (Todd), Lindsey Roark (Kody), Lana Nicole Mercer (C.J.), Brent Roark and Alyssa Abbott (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Emma Smith, Elizabeth Howard, Colton Willis, Tanner Roark, Emory Roark and Sadie Ann Abbott.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Roark Sr., son, Frank L. Roark, Jr., parents, Carl and Mary Ann Thigpen and one brother.
Joyce's warm smile was infectious, instantly brightening any room she entered. Her loving nature extended to everyone she knew, creating a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire us all. She cherished her family deeply, and her love for her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of strength and joy for them, and for all who witnessed it.
We will forever cherish the countless happy memories we shared with Joyce: the laughter that filled our hearts, the comforting hugs that eased our worries, and the moments of connection that enriched our lives. These memories, like precious jewels, will be held close to our hearts and shared among generations to come. Her influence will endure, a testament to the beautiful life she lived.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Kahlert Funeral Chapel in Maysville.
A graveside service to honor Joyce's life will follow on Monday, August 4th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.
