A life guided by faith and surrounded by a loving family and life-long friends is a blessed life. Joyce A. Rogers loved God, treasured her family and had friendships that lasted for decades. Joyce’s life was truly blessed. We celebrate her legacy, embrace her spirit and cherish her memory.
Joyce A. Rogers (nee Barrick), of Kensington, was called home to God on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Joyce was born on February 27, 1941, in Pekin, Ohio, the daughter of Russell and Agnes (Cooper) Barrick.
During her high school years, Joyce met the love of her life, Kenny Rogers. They married on July 7, 1962, at the Minerva Methodist Church. They chose Kensington, Ohio as the place to start their life together. It was a union that lasted for 63 years.
Their family in Kensington grew to include two daughters, Paula and Karla Rogers.
Kenny and Joyce were partners and co-owners of Ken Rogers Trucking, Inc. on U.S. Route 30 in Kensington until their well-earned retirement.
Joyce was a member of the Minerva Methodist Church. She enjoyed winters in Florida, her cat Snowball, her favorite color purple, “bedazzled” clothes, making her delicious macaroni and potato salads, traveling and cruises, hosting friends for parties and, most of all, spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Agnes (Cooper) Barrick; two brothers, Fred Barrick and Kenneth Barrick (Diane, deceased); a brother-in-law, Fred Albaugh; and a niece, Sherri (Albaugh) Imler.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Kenny Rogers; daughters Paula Rogers of Alliance, Ohio and Karla Rogers (Michael Gareau) of North Olmsted, Ohio; grandchildren Shaun Green (Allison) of Canal Fulton, Ohio; Kayla Morris (Liam), of Rochester, New York; Jack Gareau, William Gareau and Elizabeth Gareau of North Olmsted, Ohio; sister, Donna (Barrick) Albaugh, of Minerva, Ohio; dear friend and “son” Duke Green of Kensington, Ohio and loved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at Minerva Methodist Church, 204 N Main St, Minerva, Ohio 44657 on December 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers and in Joyce’s honor, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association alz.org or Minerva Community Meals, 204 Edgewood Drive, Minerva, Ohio 44657.
