Joyce Carter Rouse

Mrs. Joyce C. Rouse - age 83, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died on Thursday, March 2, 2023. She went home to her Savior, Jesus Christ while surrounded by her family. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching 3rd Grade Sunday School for many years.
Mrs. Rouse was a graduate of Murphy High School. Soon after graduating she married and was a dedicated wife and loving mother to her three children. Later, she became a loving and doting grandmother to her three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was an avid lover of animals, especially cats. She rescued a litter of five orphaned kittens and raised them and dearly loved them up until her death. She loved reading on the balcony facing the Gulf Coast waters during family vacations at the beach.
Mrs. Rouse was reunited in heaven with her husband of 49 years, Edgar Russell Rouse, Jr., her Mother, Edna W. Carter, her grandson Justin T. Forsberg, her son-in-law, Thomas K. Forsberg, Jr., her brother-in-law Bruce DeLassus, her niece, Sherry D. Bryant and her uncle Clarence Hoffman.
She is survived by her three daughters, Karen M. (Tom) Falla of Allen TX, Lisa R. Forsberg of Mobile and Laura R. (Jeff) Eadie of Mobile, three granddaughters, Kristen L. (Chad) Hall of Hoover, AL, Olivia N. Falla, her fiancée, Jake, and Caroline G. Falla, all of Allen, TX. One great granddaughter, Agatha L. Hall of Hoover, AL, one sister, Pat DeLassus of Jackson, TN, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, 2023. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. followed by a service in the Chapel.
