Joyce Faye (McLean) Salters,78, of Itmann, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.
Born October 27, 1946 at Itmann, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Louise (Haga) McLean.
Joyce was a 1964 graduate of Mullens High School and was a former cashier at J&J Supermarket. She was always involved with PTA and a member of the Itmann United Methodist Church.
When we pause to remember Joyce, we shall remember her as a sports mom. She always supported her children in their sports activities and often transported players to games. She was always taking care of family and doing for others.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a son, Randy Salters; infant son, John Boyd Salters; one brother, Bob McLean; one brother-in-law, Glenn Stevens; and a special sister and dear friend, Phyllis Brooks
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband, Johnny Salters, Jr. of Itmann; one daughter, Christy Salters and her wife, Lisa of Austin, Texas; granddaughter whom Joyce and Johnny raised, Brittany Salters her partner, David and her daughter, Alma; two sisters, Mary Stevens of Holly Hills and Janet Hatfield (Russell) of Itmann; daughter-in-law, Sherry Belcher Salters of Itmann; sister-in-law, Maggie McLean of Barkers Ridge; grandchildren, Courtney Hiser, Krystal Wallace (Jeff), and Justin Monday (Mary); great grandchildren, Conner, Carson, and Colton Treadway and Thea Hiser, Taylor and Kendall Bishop, and Sarah Monday; nephews, Michael McLean (Linda), Jackie McLean, Keith Stevens (Melanie), Wesley Hatfield, and Jason Hatfield (Carla); and a special friend, Jeff England whom she considered a son.
Services will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Itmann United Methodist Church, Itmann with Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
