JOYCE SANDERS 

 Henderson, TN: Joyce Jeanette Sanders, age 71, passed away October 11, 2024, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She was born in Selmer, TN August 19, 1953, daughter of the late William Earnest and Holly Ruth Killingsworth Stone. She grew up in Michie, TN and attended school at Michie and graduated from McNairy Central High School.

She began working in garment factories by the age of 16 off and on working in Corinth, Adamsville, Stantonville, and Henderson. She also worked at the Americana Inn in Henderson.

Joyce married Tommy Sanders on April 16, 1983, and they made their home in Henderson.

She was a member of First Assembly of God in Henderson.

She enjoyed square dancing, attending cars shows, going to horse shows and rodeos, sewing, and watching Westerns.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Tommy Sanders; two brothers, Billy Joe Stone and John F. Stone (Mary) both of Corinth, MS; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Emmie Jean Strickland, Jane Hardin, and Janice Louise Stone.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday October 16, 2024, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Pastor George Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Tuesday from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM.
