Joyce passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home near Dickinson.
Joyce was born April 9, 1937 to William and Annie (Pedledski) Demaniow in Belfield, ND. She grew up on a family farm northwest of Belfield and attended country grade school. She went to Model High School in Dickinson and then attended college. On July 9, 1956, Joyce married Edward Scheeler and the couple was blessed with four children. Joyce and Edward made their home in Dickinson and it was here where they raised their family. Over the years Joyce worked at Woolworths and went on to sell Avon as well.
Joyce enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was also a great cook, especially her cheese buttons. In their younger days, Joyce and Ed enjoyed going out dancing. Joyce loved shopping, she was an avid collector of shoes and many other “treasures”. Joyce was very fond of visiting with family and friends and seldom missed an opportunity to chat. She will be remembered for her selfless attitude and willingness to help others. Joyce was never afraid of a good days work and proved it at the age of 80 helping set a fence post the old fashioned way.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Wayne (Tammy Johnson) Scheeler, Dickinson; Doug (Michelle) Scheeler, Dickinson; grandchildren, Jenni Ketley, Keri Dolyniuk, Casey (Mandi) Scheeler, Zachary Scheeler, Maxwell Scheeler, and Ashley Pinto; great-grandchildren, Ben Ketley, Kelsey Ketley, Zoey Scheeler, Xavier Scheeler, Lynaea Wilson, and Inlee Wilson; son-in-law, David Dolyniuk, Dickinson; brothers, Steven Demaniow, Dickinson; David (Martha) Demaniow, Tuscon, AZ; Victor (Bonnie) Demaniow, Billings, MT; sister, Georgia (Ted) Scheeler; Bozeman, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; daughters, Linda Dolyniuk and Loretta Scheeler; brother, Lawrence Demaniow; and sisters-in-law, Rosemary and Jeanie Demaniow.
