Joyce Seabaugh

BONO - Joyce Smith Seabaugh, 68, of rural Bono, passed from this life Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born in Jonesboro, Joyce lived much of her life in Jonesboro before moving to Bono. She was a 1973 graduate of Jonesboro High School and retired from St. Bernards Medical Center business office with 31 years of service.

Joyce was of the Baptist faith and was a caregiver for her mother until her mother's passing. Joyce enjoyed family life and all of her energy was geared toward her family activities. She loved all of her family and she loved being retired which gave her more time to spend with her grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Smith and Peggy Joyce Bryant Smith Blair, a brother, Ricky Smith, and brother-in-law, Perry Seabaugh.

Survivors include her husband, Walt Seabaugh of the home; a son, Shane Davis (Audra House) of Jonesboro; brother, Ron Smith (Traci) of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Sheri Prestidge (Donnie) of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren, Avery Davis and Cayson Davis.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 this evening, July 6, at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Martin officiating. Ron Smith will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Donnie Prestidge, Easton Key, Jacob Smith, Alex Smith, Curtis Bryant and William Bryant.
