Joyce E. Slavin

Joyce E. Slavin, 88, formerly of Paramus, NJ, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, in Country Meadows, Bethlehem Township.

Born May 5, 1937, in Montreal, Québec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Sophie (Danzinger) Bédard.

Her husband of 52 years, Arnold J. Slavin, passed away January 28, 2020.

Years ago, Joyce worked at Exxon in New York City. She had also been a volunteer which later became a position at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ.

Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dogs over the years. Years ago, she enjoyed bowling, tennis, volleyball, and skiing where she met her husband.

She was of the Catholic faith and a former member of Annunciation Church of Paramus.

Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer Martellucci and her husband Innocenzo, Jr., of Palmer Township; a son, Derek Slavin and his wife Danielle, of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Innocenzo Matthew, Jaiden Elizabeth and Austin Christopher Martellucci, and Ava Kate and Foster Lawson Slavin; three sisters, Jeanine Reid, of Delta, British Columbia, Hélène Bédard, of Lachenaie, Québec, and Diane Bédard, of Greenfield Park, Québec; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, February 5th, in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Township. Call Thursday 9:30-11am in the church. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough, is in charge of arrangements.
