Joyce Sofge Obituary
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Betty Coggins, her in-laws, John and Geradine Sofge, her brother, Mark Jerome Coggins, her sister, Valerie Lee Huffman, and her nephew, Joshua Mark Coggins. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jimmy Sofge; two children, Jonathan (Serenity) Sofge of Yulee, Fla.; Amy (Chris) Hughes of Killeen, Texas; three grandsons, Carson Yearwood, Joseph Sofge, Jase Sofge; two sisters, Paula (Gary) Morrison of Yulee, Fla., and Melissa (Kimberly) Coggins of Satsuma, Ala.; sister-in-law, Terry (Mark) Harvell of Jacksonville, Fla.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives that she cherished dearly.
Joyce worked as a training specialist for Trident Training Facility in Kings Bay, Ga., for 35 years, where she received several awards. After retiring, she volunteered her time at Baptist Hospital in Fernandina Beach, Jail Ministries and many churches.
Joyce was a one-of-a-kind lady that never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. She loved the Lord and was a kind beautiful soul. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She thought the world of her grandchildren and cherished every minute with them. Joyce enjoyed spending quality time with family, camping and rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs. Joyce also enjoyed shopping with her sisters every chance she got.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at Harbor Worship Center, Kingsland, Ga., with pastor Mike Sanes officiating. A reception to follow at the church.

I always loved Mrs. Joyce just as much as she loved Me! I always enjoyed walking down to her house to see her and our conversations! And I surely will miss her allot!

A Memory that I remember about Joyce is that she really loved me allot and I hate that she isn't here anymore. But, I know that she is living free with God & Jesus Christ now! And I'll just remember her in my heart of how loving, sweet, & kind she was to me. Wednesday, 3/17/1954 Joyce on St. Patrick's Day. She was a so,very nice lady & a good friend.
