Joyce Sue Brooks Sprouse, affectionately known as Joy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Liberty, South Carolina. Born on October 22, 1946, Joy lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her loving nature, generosity, and the joy she brought to every room she entered.
Joy was the cherished matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her devoted children, Kari Day and her husband Raymond, and Herbert Sprouse and his wife Jannifer. Joy's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Colt Sprouse and his wife, Hannah, and their children, Mason and Connor; Allison Waldrop and her husband, John, and their son, Luke; Brook Sprouse; and Cody Day. Her spirit will also live on in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, who all held a special place in her heart.
A homemaker by profession, Joy poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home for her family and friends. Her door was always open, and her kitchen was the heart of many gatherings. Joy's love for cooking was only matched by her skill, and her crafts were a testament to her creativity and attention to detail. She was a true social butterfly, known for her friendly demeanor and her love of conversation. Her passion for traveling took her to many places, but she found the greatest joy in the company of her loved ones.
Joy's generosity extended beyond her family; she was a beloved member of her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her love for hosting parties and get-togethers was well-known, and she will be remembered for the laughter and happiness that followed her wherever she went.
Those who knew Joy will remember her as a loving and friendly soul, whose generosity knew no bounds. She was a beacon of light and warmth, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we say goodbye to Joyce Sue Brooks Sprouse, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the beautiful life she lived. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her love will forever be a cherished gift to her family and friends. Joy's life was a testament to the power of kindness, and her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched.
