Joyce Davis Stocker, 89, long time resident of Poosey Ridge, passed away at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Joyce was the daughter of the late Ed and Stella Cates Davis. She was born on Poosey Ridge and was a long- time member of the Poosey Methodist Church where she served in various roles. She was preceeded in death by brother, Kyle Nelson Davis and her husband of 71 years, Vernon Stocker.

Survivors include her son, Donnie Stocker (Teresa); one granddaughter, Chloe Stocker Messina (Nick); one grandson, Donald Wesley; two great-grandsons, Landon Messina and Noah Messina; nieces, Melissa Davis, Jennifer Miller and many cousins.

Joyce worked alongside her husband, Vernon, for over 60 years on their farms. Joyce and Vernon also ran Stocker's Grocery, a small country store located near Poosey Ridge on Kirksville Road, Richmond. She worked at W. T. Grant Company and Bluegrass Ace Hardware, and Olde Homestead Primitives for many years. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting and gardening. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Johny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Manse Cemetery at Paint Lick.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Stocker, Tim Stocker, Hunter Stocker, Jason Rogers, Alfred Winkler, Chuck Sowers and Ricky Cheeks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Rogers, Debbie Rogers, Gordon Cotton, Coleman Baker, Joe Masters, Rod Mobley, Johny Collins, Phil Johnson and Billy Collins.
