Joyce Mills Stocks

Ms. Joyce Mills Stocks, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 13, 2025 at her home.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, September 20, 2015, at 11 AM at Pinewood Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Kevin Woolard. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Joyce, a native of Pitt County, lived her early life in the Black Jack community. She was a graduate of Chicod School, Class of 1951. After her marriage to J.B. Stocks in 1957, she traveled with him while he served in the United States Army until his retirement in 1979. After J.B.'s retirement, Joyce and J.B. made their home in Greenville. Joyce was a lifelong member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bryant "J.B." Stocks, parents, Bossie and Helen Mills, brother, Elton Mills, and sister, Evelyn Williams Evans.

She is survived by;

son, Bryant Stocks and wife, Carol;

grandson, Thomas Stocks, all of Greenville;

sister-in-law, Hazel Mills of Black Jack;

and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Amedysis Hospice Care for their loving care given to Joyce.
