Joyce Jenkins Sullivan, age 82, of Donalsonville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on February 27, 1943, in St. Elmo, Illinois to Lee Barlow and Delvina Ponder Chick.
Joyce spent her working days as an educator for Dallas ISD at Central Elementary School in Seagoville, Texas.
Joyce lived a full and vibrant life. She was known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor. She had a spirit that could not be tamed; and while her spirit was bold, it was also incredibly kind. Her family is comforted knowing that she is flying high and at peace. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Barlow; her mother and stepfather, Delvina Chick and Robert Leslie Chick; her husband, Paul Jenkins; her brother, Kenneth Leslie Chick; her husband, Arlis Scoggins; and her husband, Richard Sullivan.
Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, which will be forever held dear by her significant other, Rocky Duncan; her daughter and son-in-law, Kymberly Rucker and Robert Glenn Rucker; her grandson and his wife; Robert Brett Rucker and Raegan Rucker; her precious great granddaughter, Scarlett Belle Rucker; her brother and sister-in-law, Stanley Chick and Debbie Chick; her cousin, David Wilson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
Interment will be in Center Ridge Cemetery – Maud, Texas under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas.
