A dedicated and skilled gardener, Joyce took great joy in nurturing both her spectacular flower beds and her fruitful vegetable patch. For decades, her thriving flower garden was a testament to her care, while her famous vegetable patch consistently produced the best tomatoes in North Carolina.
Joyce is survived by her son, Mark Vaughan; her daughter, Angela Vaughan, and her husband, Eric Fawcett. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Clements Funeral Service, 1105 Broad St, Durham, NC 27705, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham, NC.
The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham. Online condolences may be sent to www.clementsfuneralservice.com.
