Joyce M. Vaughan passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Lynn Haven Rehabilitation. A celebration of life will be Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Gray Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM with a visitation for family and friend's one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Lynn Woodard will officiate. Interment will follow in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.
Joyce was born on April 28, 1936 to the late John Lester Hicks and Viola Simmonds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husband, Glen Vaughan, daughter, Becky Hancock, son, Ricky Hancock, brothers, John Hicks, Danny Hicks, sister, Paulette Griffin, and grandson, Jesse Hancock.
Joyce was retired from Brown and Williamson Corporation. Her sense of humor, funny disposition and jokester personality always brightened every occasion. She was in charge, straight shooter and unquestioned work ethic. Joyce loved to read, garden and crafts. But, her legacy of love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren is a comfort to her family.
Her memory will cherished by those who loved her most, sons, Tim (Geni) and Russ (Pamela), grandchildren, Alan Hancock (Jill), Christie Twining, Nickie Morrison (Chris), Anthony Hancock (April), Blake Hancock (Kaitlin), Casey Dorough, Corey Hancock, Morgan Paden (Jake), Anna Hancock, Jessica Wynn, Cheryl Doughty (Chandler), sister, Linda Schnall, daughter in law Cindy Hancock and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
