Rebecca (Becky) Ann Meyer, 73, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Athens on October 4, 2025, after a brief illness.
Becky was born on April 5, 1952, in Decatur, Georgia, to the late Milton and Betty Grady Carswell. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Carswell.
For thirty-four years, Becky worked faithfully at The Eatonton Messenger as the Circulation and Legal Notices Clerk, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and kindness.
Becky is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Steven Meyer; daughter, Mary (Anthony) Byrd; grandchildren, Briannah (Morgan) Dupree and Michael (Allie) Byrd; and great-grandchildren, Kohen Byrd and Kayson Byrd. She is also survived by her sister, Judith (Terry) Reese, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Becky was kind, devoted, and determined. She lived her life with faith, love, and selflessness. Her greatest joys were her husband, her cats, mountain trips, and spending time with her family. From Becky, her loved ones learned strength, patience, and how to find beauty in life's simple moments.
She will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love, and the quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew her. Becky often said, "Take one day at a time," a simple reminder of how she faced life-with grace, courage, and hope.
Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the Becky Meyer family. You may register you condolences at graymemorialchapel.com.
