Joyce Karen Wetzstein

Joyce Karen Wetzstein, age 81 of Owatonna, formerly of West Concord, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna. Joyce was daughter of Talbert and Anna Maria (Geier) Waits. She was born in Eugene, OR, on August 2, 1943. She grew up in Kasson with her sister Loretta and graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School. Joyce married Lawrence Wetzstein on July 11, 1961. Together they raised their family in Zumbrota/Kenyon. Joyce took great pride in her gardens of both flowers and vegetables and was an avid canner. She was passionate about cooking and baking, all of her meals were made with love. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Joyce loved the water, whether it was fishing or waterskiing, anytime the boat left the dock, she was in it. She was a skilled card player and enjoyed games of all kinds. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and friends. Joyce is survived by her children, Jeff (Jayne), Barbara Schmidt, Patricia (Tim) Gillispie, Myrna (father of her children Terry Estrem), Jon (Michele Lucas), Jayme (Angela Heitmann); grandchildren, Joshua (Samantha), Jessica, Jacob, Kami, Brandyn, Shawn (Mary), Chelsea (Jason), Devin (Keshia), Kianna ( fiancé Cole), Captain Ross (Vivian), Katherine, Aaron; great grandchildren, Kyliegh, Ryleigh, Brahyden, Hunter Mae, Kason, Reed, Gabrilla, Quinn, Margot, Catalina, Hailye, Rilye, Serenity, Brianna, Eli, Barrett; and sister, Loretta Evenson; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by parents, Tab and Mary; and Lawrence. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson, MN. Visitation will be starting at 10:00 am.
