Joyce Wilde Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Generations Funeral Home & Crematory - Tomahawk on Dec. 12, 2025.
Joyce Marie (Olson) Wilde, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in her hometown of Wausau, Wisconsin. Joyce grew up in Wausau and married Earl Wilde before he left for the Korean War in December 1949. Together they had five children and lived close to extended family and friends in Wausau. Joyce dedicated 35 years of her career as a legal secretary at Kelly Weber & Pietz Law Firm where she was respected for her professionalism and kindness. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time between her beloved cottage in Rhinelander and New Port Richey, Florida.
Joyce was cherished by many and formed lasting friendships wherever she went. Despite being stricken with polio at age five, she lived life to the fullest-traveling, dancing, caring for her family. Her love of nature was evident in the countless hours she spent fishing looking for an elusive bass. She also loved animals and rescued countless pets over the years. Wherever she was, not far behind you could find a dog or a cat.
Above all, Joyce treasured time with her family. She delighted in their company, but she also understood the importance of letting loved ones live their own lives. Joyce would often say, "You go do your thing," encouraging her family to pursue their passions without guilt or worry. Her legacy left a lasting memory of strength, humor, and steadfast love of being a caring mother.
Joyce is survived by four children, Sherrie Weisner (Roy) of New Port Richey, Lynn Krueger (Richard) of New Port Richey, Lance Wilde (Jim McAllister) of Madison, WI, and Lisa Shannon (Steve) of Bowdoin, ME. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Tia Schneider, Jason Krueger, Robin Warden, Isabella Shannon, and Sophia Shannon; and five great-grandchildren, Robbie, Hazel, James, Savannah, and Quinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wilde; and her son, Scott Wilde.
The family would like to thank the kind staff at Wood Aven Rehabilitation Center for their dedication and care of Joyce while she was there. Honoring Joyce's wishes, a private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joyce's honor to your local humane society or animal shelter.
