One of her favorite activities as a teenager and young woman, was to compete in barrel racing with her favorite horse, Babe. After having her children, she was very involved in her husband's body shop, in whatever capacity was needed of her. She even took on a side job to bring in extra money for the family, by driving a school bus for seven years; she truly loved those kids and they loved her. Following their retirement, they moved to Camdenton to enjoy family and time spent together after working hard throughout their lives.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading and fixing her family their favorite foods, with lasagna and cheesecake being at the top of the list.
In 2023, she moved into Lake Parke Senior Living, and despite a difficult journey with dementia, she never forgot her Lord and never stopped sharing the gospel with anyone who would listen. While living at Lake Parke, she was given the nickname Jo Jo from CocoMo, which would eventually evolve to Miss Jo or Jo Jo.
The family would like to express their utmost gratitude for the care and compassion shown by the Lake Parke staff to Jo and her family throughout the years.
