Joyce D. Witherspoon

1933 - 2025

Joyce Diane (Mackey) Witherspoon, 92, Latrobe, went to be with her beloved Lord on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at home. She was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Greensburg to the late Robert J. and Mary Lenore (Howard) Mackey. Joyce was retired after having worked in the Billing and Medical Records departments at Latrobe Hospital. She also worked in several doctor offices over the years. She was a member of Logos Christian Fellowship Church of Loyalhanna. Joyce was a warrior for the Lord, supporting mission work for the Lord through the church. She had a lifetime dedication to leading people to Christ, which was her great joy. She put God first in her life. Her children and their families were the love of her life, along with her church families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter E. Forsha Jr.; her second husband, John Witherspoon; an infant son, Walter E. Forsha III; three brothers, Robert Mackey (surviving spouse, Patricia), David Mackey, and William Mackey; a sister, Patricia Romero; and her grandparents, who raised her, Charles R. and Olive E. Beatty. Joyce is survived by six children, Faith Mayer, Hope Frye (Wayne), Love Ruffner, Patience Marol, Timothy Forsha (Barb), and Christofor Forsha (Terri); her 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, at the Logos Christian Fellowship Church, 1317 Latrobe Derry Road, McChesneytown-Loyalhanna, PA 15661. A funeral service will follow beginning at noon in the church. Private interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
