Joye H. Schierbaum, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 22, 2022, at her home.
Joye was born on August 15, 1929, in Lebanon, VA to the late Robert L. Hurt and Grace Peak Hurt. She was a graduate of Dobyns Bennet High School class of 1948. Joye was a homemaker and cared for her children with love and was proud of their many accomplishments. She was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church for over 50 years, her work for the church included being past president of the Joye Schierbaum s Ladies Circle .
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lee Schierbaum, Sr; son, Calvin Lee Schierbaum, Jr; sister, Gay Hurt Morgan; brother-in-Law, Albert D. Morgan; as well as many other close family members.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Patricia Schierbaum and Sue Schierbaum Skelton; grandson, Christian Lee Skelton; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Mafair United Methodist Church, 1409 East Center Street, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 4 pm with Rev. Adam Love officiating.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Mafair United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels in Joye s memory.
Carter-Trent Funeral home is serving the Scierbaum family.
