With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jozal Aguilera, who departed this life on June 17, 2025, at the age of 54. Jozal was born on November 14, 1970, in Madera, California to Manuel and Virgie Vergara. Jozal was the light in the lives of all who knew her, kind, compassionate, and endlessly generous. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Jozal was a loving daughter, sister, mother, Nana, and friend. She dedicated many years of her life working various positions in the fast-food industry, in a local flower shop, where her creativity and care blossomed alongside every bouquet, and for the State of California, where she proudly served her community.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, cooking for her family, gardening, crocheting, cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs, and most of all spending time with her two grandchildren Jaxeson and Sterling. They were her pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by Pete, her husband of 14 years, father, and grandparents. She is survived by her and Pete's four children: Tiffany Rowe and her husband Justin, Kattie, Joseph, and Mackenzie. Her mom Virgie Garcia and her husband Jesus, sisters Chantel Lorenzana and her husband Joel, Sherry Vergara and her husband Johnny Aleman, brother Manuel Vergara Jr. and his wife Sandra, brother-in laws Sal Aguilera and his wife Sherry and Mario Aguilera. Her compadres and close friends Aida and Michael Guzman, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
