Johnny Angel, born March 9, 1960 to his late parents Teresa Teran Angel and Pio Angel, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. Johnny grew up in Reedley, CA with roots in Mexicali and southern California. Growing up, he was a free-spirited hard worker with experience in agricultural and warehouse jobs. He eventually became involved in a treatment program through Central Valley Recovery Services where he attended classes and worked through his steps to a life of sobriety. He then started volunteering and later made a career as a Recovery Specialist while receiving many certificates from College of the Sequoias. He stayed dedicated to helping many through their difficult paths of sobriety for 24 years. Johnny would "always lend an ear" to anyone who needed it, but he was straight forward if needed. He was headstrong, determined, and family-oriented. If he wasn't in the office or instructing a group at work then he was usually spending his time fishing, watching movies, or making memories with his grandchildren. Johnny was a very proud man but his biggest pride were his children and grandchildren. He loved teaching them how to cast a fishing line, taking them on his boat to fish, teaching life lessons, or just spending quality time while barbecuing in the backyard. Johnny is survived by his 4 children, Johnny, Teresa, Joe, and Matthew Angel, and 7 grandchildren. He is beloved by his sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, 1700 W. Caldwell Avenue, Visalia, California 93277. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Johnny, please visit our Tree Store.
