Juan A. Aguon, 88, of Salinas, California, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Natividad Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Agat, Guam, Juan was the seventh of eight children. He began his career working as a longshoreman at the Commercial Port in Guam before relocating to Salinas in the early 1970s. In Salinas, he worked in agriculture and the fishing industry before retiring from Associated Tagline in the late 1990s.

Juan had a passion for the outdoors and loved fishing, crabbing, driving, and barbecuing with family and friends. Known for his vibrant sense of style, warm heart, strong character, and deep devotion to his loved ones, Juan left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Edward Alig Jr. (LynnRose); grandchildren, Eddie Alig (Brittany) and Alicia Gordon (Gerran); great-grandchildren, Ania Hopkins, Gonah Gordon, Jodie Alig, and Damon Alig; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martina Alig Aguon; his daughter, Rose Marie Tynes; his parents, Jose and Dolores Aguon; and his brothers, Antonio (Maria), Francisco (Felicita), Benito (Saleva), Carlos (Catalina), Jesus (Ana), and Vicente (Rosa) Aguon.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Rosary at 3:00 PM, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 22 Stone Street, Salinas, CA. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Prunedale, CA. A reception will be held afterward at the Elks Lodge, 614 Airport Boulevard, Salinas, CA.

Juan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the love, laughter, and legacy he leaves behind.
