With broken and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Juan Carlos Castellanos. The pain and illness that took him from us are no longer in control. As he now rests we take on the pain of loss. Carlos was born April 18, 1964 and passed from this world on Jan 01, 2023. In those 58 years everyone who knew him was affected, influenced and made better by knowing him.
Carlos, is survived by his loving wife Claudia, His parents Gustavo and Yolanda, 3 brothers Raul, Hector and Armando and 2 sisters, Alma and Lori. He is also survived by his children, Amanda, Daniel, Claudia, Brianna, Mariah, Jizelle and 5 grandchildren Marcelino, Judah, Salicci, Juiliana, and Claudia.
Growing up in Castroville, living and working in the Salinas Valley his entire life was a point of pride for Carlos as you could always get him to tell you a story of his life and work experiences. In life, we tend to obsess about the negatives, whereas in death, we always reflect on the positives. Anyone who had the distinct honor to share in Carlos life gets to do so much reflecting now. Some memories will make us laugh and some will make us cry but they all will make us better for getting to have them at all.
His strength, resilience, tenacity and even stubbornness, carried Carlos further than anyone could have expected through all of the issues that illness threw at him. His work-ethic and leadership made him someone to be envied. His dedication to his family, no matter how it grew, was second to none. We are all fortunate to have called him Son, Husband, Brother, Dad, Friend and now have to carry the burden of grief and sadness because of how large he loomed in all of our lives.
Rest Easy Big Guy, you have earned it.
