Juan Puga Torres, un querido esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo, falleció el 23 de agosto de 2025 en Chicago, Illinois, a los 76 años. Nació en el pequeño pueblo de Cañones, Tarimoro, Guanajuato, México, hijo de Trinidad y Juliana Puga.

A los 17 años, Juan emigró valientemente a los Estados Unidos, viajando entre México y EE. UU. antes de hacer del lado norte de Chicago su hogar permanente. Dedicó 22 años de su vida a la empresa Orval-Kent Food Company antes de jubilarse. Durante su jubilación, Juan aceptó un nuevo desafío: se inscribió en clases de ciudadanía, donde aprendió con orgullo a leer y escribir.

Juan era un hombre de pocas palabras pero de acciones significativas. Era conocido por su amabilidad, generosidad y lealtad inquebrantable a su familia. Su naturaleza compasiva y empática se complementaba con su fuerte voluntad y su incansable ética de trabajo. Tenía un increíble sentido del humor y era una fuente inagotable de inspiración y apoyo para quienes lo conocían.

Juan tenía una habilidad especial para la jardinería; sus árboles de duraznos eran la envidia del vecindario. Era un fanático de los deportes, con partidos de béisbol y fútbol siempre en la televisión. También disfrutaba viendo películas del oeste, era un aficionado a las historias folclóricas y a la historia. Veía la serie Walker, Texas Ranger y siempre tenía música puesta. Tenía una asombrosa habilidad para recordar y podía contar historias con detalles vívidos.

Le sobreviven su devota esposa, sus cinco hijos, tres hijas, ocho nietos y dos bisnietos. Será profundamente extrañado.

Juan Puga Torres, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 76. He was born in the small town of Cañones, Tarimoro, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Trinidad and Juliana Puga.

At the age of 17, Juan bravely emigrated to the United States, traveling between Mexico and the U.S. before making Chicago's north side his permanent home. He dedicated 22 years of his life to the Orval-Kent Food Company before retiring. During his retirement, Juan embraced a new challenge: he enrolled in citizenship classes where he proudly learned to read and write.

Juan was a man of few words but significant actions. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to his family. His compassionate and empathetic nature was complemented by his strong will and tireless work ethic. He had an incredible sense of humor and was an inexhaustible source of inspiration and support to those who knew him.

Juan had a special knack for gardening; his peach trees were the envy of the neighborhood. He was a sports fan, with baseball and soccer games always on the television. He also enjoyed watching Western movies and was an enthusiast of folk tales and history. He watched the series Walker, Texas Ranger and always had music playing. He had an amazing ability to recall and could tell stories with vivid detail.

He is survived by his devoted wife, five sons, three daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
