Juanita Maxine Ellithorpe

Juanita M. Ellithorpe, Age 89 Juanita Maxine Shearin was born in Sidon, Arkansas on October 17, 1919 to Emmet Edgar Shearin and Rhoda Effie Shearin. Juanita passed from this temporal life into the arms of her Lord in the home of her son Joe, Tuesday August 4th, 2009 at approximately 10:00 A.M. Juanita was raised on her parent's 40 acre family farm near Searcy, Arkansas and eventually attended Little Rock High School where she was graduated in 1937. Working with Monroe Calculating Machine Company as an instructor she moved to the Bay Area of California where she met and eventually married Robert Kendall Ellithorpe on June 13, 1942. After bearing one son, Donald Joseph Ellithorpe on June 9, 1943, they remained in the Bay Area until 1945 when they moved to southern California eventually settling in the western San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. There they remained until Roberts passing in July of 1990. In August of 1992, Juanita relocated along with her son Joe, his wife Ruth and their two daughters to North Idaho. Here she opened her Coeur d'Alene golf course home to Joe & Ruth's growing family providing a place for them to hang out when they were in town. Juanita was a member of Community United Methodist Church for many years where she became a lay-caring Stephen Minister and was a member of the United Methodist women. More recently she attended Coeur d'Alene Bible church with Joe and Ruth and their now four children. Juanita was a sixty year member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and appreciated the time she spent with her sisters in the Coeur d'Alene Chapter. Likewise she was a member of Rambling Rover's and enjoyed the many trips and events she shared with her friends. Juanita was a loving wife, devoted mother, and nurturing grandmother. Her gentle spirit will be missed by all she touched. She is survived by her son Joe, her daughter-in-law, Ruth, her four grandchildren Kaitlin, Erin, Amy and Rob, as well as her niece Peggy Creecy. Funeral Services will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday August 13TH at Yates Funeral Home Coeur d'Alene Chapel on 4th St. Family, friends and all acquaintances are invited to attend. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 14TH at Riverview Cemetery. Yates funeral homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
