Juanita Motley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James & Lipford Funeral Home - Graceville on Jun. 1, 2025.
Mrs. Juanita Jean "Jeanne" Motley, 81, of Bonifay, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 3, 1944, in Holmes County, Florida to the late Thomas "Tom" Ueal Woodham and the late Pauline Faircloth Woodham.
Jeanne loved her family and always enjoyed the time she spent with them. She leaves behind a powerful testimony of the grace of God. She gave her heart to Jesus in 1990 and fell in love with Him. She was never the same. Church became a big part of her life and she began to use her lifelong love for music and God-given talents to glorify her Savior. She sang specials as well as with the choir. Her signature song was "Here I Am." She often said that was her testimony of being the "lost sheep" that God's grace had brought safely into the fold. She also taught Sunday School, was involved in women's ministries and was a powerful prayer warrior and mentor for many young believers. While she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, we know she is at home with her Savior and we look forward to seeing her again soon.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal "Crissy" Jean Ellenburg Baxley and son-in-law Rev. Phil Baxley. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Evan Ellenburg (Carla), Ale' Ellenburg, J.D. Ellenburg, and Jacob Tyler Ellenburg; 2 great grandchildren, Alexis Ellenburg and Ayden Ellenburg; 2 brothers, Richard Woodham (Gail) and Dean Woodham (Ladell) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family, and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bo" Motley; 2 sons, Lynn Ellenburg and T.J. Ellenburg; 1 grandson, J.P. Baxley; 4 brothers, Delma Woodham, William "Bill" Woodham, Cecil P. Woodham, and Dorsey Woodham; 1 sister, Iris Estell Woodham Matthews.
A Home-going Celebration will be held at 10:00 A.M. (CDT), on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Jeanne's home church, Carmel Assembly of God, 1485 Carmel Church Road, Bonifay, Florida, with James & Lipford Funeral Home, Graceville, Florida in charge of arrangements. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
