Juanita "Nitz" Tan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She peacefully passed to be with our Lord and was surrounded by family on May 13, 2023.
Juanita is survived by her husband (Froilan Tan), son (Francis Tan), daughters (Faye Tan, Felise Lu), son-in-law (Sam Lu), grandson (Aiden Lu), mother (Lydia Vito), and brothers (Lorenzo Vito and Ramon Vito).
Juanita was born to Manuel and Lydia Vito on September 28, 1965 in Quezon City, Philippines. Juanita was the youngest and only girl of four siblings ( Virgilio Vito (d), Lorenzo Vito, and Ramon Vito ). She graduated from Siena College. She worked at Far East Bank where she met her husband Froilan and married him in 1989 after just 2 years of dating. She gave birth to her first daughter, Felise, in 1990 and her son, Francis in 1991. She immigrated to the United States in 1994 lived in San Francisco, shortly then moved to Hanford in 1995, where she had her second daughter, Faye and moved back to the bay area. She eventually settled down in Daly City in 1999. She took on many different jobs working in food service at a Deli in San Francisco; as a relocation coordinator in Reloaction; starting and running her own home daycare; while eventually working as a unit coordinator and landing in medical records at the Jewish Home.
Juanita was a force to be reckoned with. She was loving, kind, generous, courageous, strong, and had a zest for life. Her personality was boisterous. She took her duties as a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and mother seriously - she made sure those she loved and cared for were put first. She always tried to help those who sought out her help. Her love was limitless and unwavering. She loved to listen to Christmas music all year long, go on roadtrips, watch the Hallmark channel, and eat! She faced her cancer headstrong starting 2011 when she was diagnosed, understood the uphill battle, and fought hard until the end with no fear of what was to come.
She will be missed greatly and will live forever in our hearts and minds.
