Juanita Ruth Tidwell, 84, of McAlester, passed away Sunday, June 29, at her home with her family at her side. Arrangements for cremation have been completed; no services are planned at this time. Juanita Tidwell was born on May 3, 1941 in Grant, Okla. to Henry Newell Blair and Cordie Ethel (Mathis) (Blair) Couchran. She and her family lived in Powderly, near Hugo, until they moved to California. While in California, Juanita worked as a supervisor for produce producers, sorting and packaging potatoes, plums, apples, and other produce. Twenty-seven years ago, she returned to Oklahoma and made McAlester her home. She loved her family and enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her granddaughters and her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed phone calls and visits from Ledema and Tammy. Juanita is survived by her son, Dennis Tidwell and his wife, Geneva; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Hamilton and husband Michael, and Ashlee Walls and husband Chris, and a very special granddaughter, Nicole V.; 3 great grandchildren, Cooper Hoyle, Aubrey Hoyle, and Kash Tidwell, and very special great granddaughters, Nadia, Kacie, Miranda, Brooklynn, Amaiya and Jordyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Tidwell; a son, Timmie; her parents; 3 sisters, Alcie, Dorthy, and Velma; her grandparents; and Multiple nieces and nephews.
