Judd Harcourt Penske, a man of generous spirit and warm heart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on August 3rd, 1941, Judd went on to live a life full of passion, service, and love.
A dedicated member of the Sellersburg community, Judd will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Jan, loving daughters, Rachelle Emerick (Myron) and Trish DeBoer (Tom); his cherished sisters, Jill Noviski and Joan Boes (Patrick Johns); his adored grandchildren, Brandon DeBoer (Erika), Tensia DeBoer, Joshua DeBoer, Emily Emerick,and Anna Emerick; and his caring father-in-law, Everette Gerber. He also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Judd was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Enid Penske, and his brother-in-law Emil Noviski, whose memories he always held dear.
A committed professional in sales, Judd's career was marked by integrity and success. Beyond his professional life, Judd was a proud Navy veteran, serving his country with honor. His commitment to community and nature was evident in his active membership in the Audubon Society and The Nature Conservancy. He found immense joy in being part of the Clark County Youth Shelter's Board of Directors, where he made a meaningful impact on young lives.
In the latter part of his life, Judd found a new calling in education, sharing his love for reading with young minds in the 3-2-1 Reading Program at Silver Creek Elementay School. His big heart and cool demeanor made him a favorite among children and colleagues alike.
Judd embraced life with a sense of adventure and compassion. He participated yearly in the American Lung Association's bike trek to Shakertown, Kentucky. His love for nature was ever-present as he fed and watched the birds and squirrels that visited his backyard. His love for the folk music of the sixteis and seventies was a testament to his enduring spirit and youthful heart, and his affinity for reading brought him endless hours of joy and reflection.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Garr Funeral Home in
Sellersburg, IN. A memorial service celebrating Judd's life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
Arrangements have been lovingly provided by Garr Funeral Home. Judd will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for nature and humanity will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
In honor of Judd Harcourt Penske, his family asks that memories of him be cherished by continuing to love, serve, and inspire others as he always did. In remembrance of Judd, donations may be made to the Clark County Youth Shelter, an organization he cared for deeply.
He will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of love and service, touching the lives of many with his generous spirit and unwavering kindness.
