Judge Davis, 81, of Marion, went to be with the Lord at 8:21 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in Charleston, Missouri, on Sunday, April 4, 1943, to Leroy and Arthur (Berryhill) Davis. He married his beloved wife, Doris Love, who survives.
Judge attended Marion High School where he was a star for Marion Giants basketball. He served in the United States Army as an armorer. Following his military service, Judge worked as a Machine Operator for several years with Dana Corp. Judge was a proud Mason and was a member of the Wilson Lodge #12, El Zora Temple #124, and Consistory #60 for over 51 years. He enjoyed riding his bike, going fishing, and talking on his CB with the handle Clover Man.
In addition to his loving wife, Doris, Judge is survived by his sons, Robert Lawrence Johnson of Marion, Ray Anthony Jackson of Indianapolis, Reynaldo E. (late Lisa) Davis of Indianapolis, and Judge Collier of California; daughter, Tammie Mallard of Marion; granddaughters, Monique Johnson, Brianna (Jolan) Green, Kila Davis, Latondra Shepard, Kylie Black, and Shaierra (Dewayne) Keaton; grandsons, Joshua Davis, Laundle Shepard, Jr., Daytwon Black, Alfrondri J. Bell, Khalei Black, and Lashawn Black; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Joe (Sandra) Davis, Marcus (Mabelene) Davis, Rogers Davis, and Leroy (Kimberly) Davis, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Davis, Rose Davis, Chatton (Earl) Bolden, Rebecca Davis, Gloria Davis, and Christina (Anthony) Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; plus his special friend, Freddie Motton.
Judge was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Davis; mother, Arthur Lee Davis; son, Laundle Black; brothers, Chester Davis, Earl Davis, and Leonard Davis; and sisters, Luberta Davis and Diane Davis.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Judge's life will begin at 12:00 noon with Rev. Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity in Marion.
