Judith Bailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home - Lewisville on Sep. 23, 2025.
Judith "Judi" Gudger Bailey of Lewisville, Texas, stepped peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, with Flann and Beckie by her side. Her final breath on earth became her first in glory.

Born on Christmas Eve, 1941, in Houston, Texas, to Gordon Boone Gudger and Gertrude "Billie" Emily Matyear, Judi's life was a gift from the very beginning. Growing up in Houston, she spent countless days with Rui-her first and lifelong friend-and her beloved cousins.

After graduating High School, Texas A&M was Judi's first choice-Aggie blood ran deep in the Gudger family-but since the university didn't admit women at the time, she chose Texas Tech. Shortly after, she stepped into the role she cherished most-motherhood-with the birth of her son, Flann. In 1972, she made her home in Lewisville, Texas, where she lovingly raised her growing family, welcoming two daughters, Heather and Rebecca "Beckie."

Judi was often affectionately called "The Beaver Cleaver Mom," a tribute to the warmth, grace, and devotion she poured into her home. Family dinners were the heartbeat of daily life-whether it was a special occasion or a simple weeknight meal, Judi's home-cooked dishes brought everyone together.

Judi's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she served faithfully as a Pharmacy Technician at Lewisville Hospital, a job she loved, and where she made many friends.

In her retirement, Judi found deep joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment of togetherness. She also discovered a loving church family at Grace Community, where she became an active part of the "Grace Girls"-a group of faithful women devoted to serving the Lord side by side. Their fellowship brought her great happiness and purpose in her later years.

Judi loved the Lord with all her heart and was always eager to share words of encouragement and scripture with anyone in need. Her faith was not just something she believed-it was something she lived. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting eternally in His loving arms. She embraced everyone with open arms and a heart full of grace. She adored her soft cotton gowns, cozy slippers, and anything in her favorite color-purple. Her gentle presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her.

"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." - Proverbs 31:26

Judi now rejoices in Heaven with her parents, Gordon and "Billie" Gudger, her brother Buddy Gudger, niece Debbie Gudger, and her Aunt Jessie. She is survived by her beloved children: Flann Bailey and his wife Carey, Beckie McMaster and her husband Matthew, and Heather Mannino and her husband Michael. Her joy multiplied through her grandchildren: Gavin Bailey, Blakely DuBose, Chandler McMaster, Emma McNamara, Lillie Dunn, and Poppy McMaster, Braeden Mannino, Aspen Mannino and her great-grandchildren: Scout, Wesley, Austin, and Brody DuBose. She also leaves behind cherished sister-in-law Nellie Gudger, niece and nephews-Larry, Linda, John, whom she loved dearly.

Judi's naturally warm, nurturing love of her family and friends will be deeply missed by all.

A celebration of Judi's life will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at Grace Community Assembly of God in Flower Mound @ 2 PM, followed by refreshments and time to visit with the family. Judi was a devoted member of Grace Church for many years, and in lieu of flowers-though she loved them dearly-she requested donations be made to her church.

In one final act of generosity, Judi donated her body to Texas A&M. She is now, proudly, an Aggie. Gig 'em!
