Judith Bouffard Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ready Funeral & Cremation Services - South Chapel on Oct. 18, 2024.
Judith Ann Bouffard (Dague) of Colchester, VT in the early morning hours of October 16, 2024, with her family on earth surrounding her and her family in heaven guiding her stepped through the door and climbed the stairway to heaven's golden gates. Surrounded by love, light, and peace her pain has finally been released.
She was born February 19, 1952, to Myrtle Paquette (Melvin) and Ernest J. Dague Sr. in Burlington VT. She was the second child joining her brother Ernest J Dague II "Butchie" and then later on her sister Darlene completed the family. From the start, she was a spunky girl that knew her strength and didn't allow anyone to forget it. Often, a gentle reminder that "It's not really ok to deck the little boys" from her father, was told in stories. Judy knew that she was a fighter from start to finish and that is how she lived her life. She was a graduate of Burlington High School, where her Father took great pride in signing her diploma as a member of the Burlington School Board. She met Michael Bouffard, lovingly referred to as the "Long Haired Barefoot Hippy" by her father. They were married on December 4, 1971. While beginning to build their life together, Judy worked for various printing companies until her children were born. She became a stay-at-home mom to Nicole & Michael Jr. After the kids were school age, she became a School Bus driver for Mountain Transit which is where she retired from in 2014. She enjoyed her summers floating in her pool, and spending time with all her kiddos immensely.
Judy leaves behind her husband Michael, her children Nicole Bouffard and partner Tammy Azur, Michael Jr. and partner Caitlin Chagnon, grandchildren Clark & Vera Azur, sister-in-law Betty Dague, nieces and nephews, Jackie, Marc & Zoe Buker, Cathy, Jeff, Scott, Brittani, Jacob & Lilly (Winterbottom) Trombley, Jody, Jason, Mayla & Marissa Mashteare, DJ & Alina Peters, as well as her 4-legged baby Ozzie. All of the kids were her joy, and she took great pride in all of their accomplishments. But, Clark & Vera were her shining stars. The sun rose and set on those babies, and she so enjoyed all their adventures together. She also leaves her lifelong friend Susanne Wagner and sister by choice Sandra Peters with whom she grew up, started families, shared love, laughter and many memories throughout the years. Judy was predeceased by her parents, her siblings including David Peters Sr. who was as much a brother as Butchie, and many aunts and uncles.
We would like to thank the UVM Home Health & Hospice for their kindness and assistance in honoring Judy's wish to transition to the spirit world at home with loved ones. As requested by Judy, a prayer service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday October 21st, at Ready Funeral Home Mountain View Chapel 68 Pinecrest Drive in Essex. Followed by a graveside service at New Mount Calvery Cemetery on Plattsburgh Avenue in Burlington, and a celebration of life at the American Legion Post 91 in Colchester.
