Capuano, Judith F.
BALLSTON LAKE - Judith F. Capuano, affectionately known as Judy to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at Saratoga Hospital, at the age of 84.
Born September 8, 1941, in Meadville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Stanley Charles and Florence Edna (nee: Hamilton) Flaugh. Judy's educational journey began in her hometown and culminated with her graduation from Lawrence Park High School in 1959.
Upon entering the workforce, Judy found her first professional home at General Electric Company in Erie, Pa. After moving to New York, she embraced her passion for nature by working at various gardening centers, including the esteemed Faddegon's Nursey and Hewitts. Judy's love for the earth's beauty was evident in every plant she nurtured and every landscape she helped to flourish. Beyond her professional life, Judy's interests were as vibrant and diverse as the gardens she tended. She was an accomplished ceramicist and card maker, bringing joy to others through her artistic creations. However, it was on the golf course where Judy's spirit truly soared. A member of the Edison Club for nearly half a century, she left an indelible mark on the club's history. Her prowess on the greens was legendary, securing her seven Club Championships and eight Senior Club Championships. Judy's name was synonymous with excellence, as evidenced by her 13 2 Lady Best Ball titles and numerous runner-up finishes. Her election into the Edison Club Hall of Fame in 1991 was a testament to her dedication, skill, and sportsmanship. One of her favorite golf memories was playing St. Andrew's in Scotland. Judy's zest for life extended well beyond the fairways. Alongside her beloved husband, Don, she embarked on adventures that spanned the globe. Together, they explored every country in Europe, marveled at the wonders of Alaska and Hawaii, and immersed themselves in the cultures of Japan, China, Russia, North Africa, South America, Canada, the Bahamas, and Mexico. Each journey enriched their lives and left them with a treasured trove of memories.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her brother, Richard.
