Judith Carl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Kansas City on Jun. 25, 2024.
Judy Carl of Independence Missouri passed away on June 20, 2024 after a brief illness. Born in Kansas City to Charles and Martha Snider, Judy excelled in academics and in a rare feat at the time returned to college to complete her bachelor's degree after having two children. Her sons have fond memories of her anatomy dissection homework being "hidden" on the roof of a Volkswagen Beetle in the garage. After finishing school, Judy then began a long career as a microbiologist at the Medical Center of Independence where she took particular satisfaction in identifying unusual bacteria or fungi that affected patients.
As her working years ended, Judy settled into her true passion - being a grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with Eric, Jake, Cooper and Colton. From ballgames to school events and special holidays, Judy reveled in it all. It is a true blessing that she was able live long enough to see all of her grandchildren become fine young adults.
Her sons, Jim Hayward and John Hayward, and daughter-in-laws Michelle and Lisa, benefited greatly from Judy's exceptional mix of humor, intellect and determination. Judy approached everything with a loving heart. She provided wise counsel and modeled what an exceptional parent should look like.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Judy is survived by her husband Adrian and his son Kevin, both of whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer. For those wishing to support causes Judy valued, please consider a gift to Wayside Waifs in Kansas City Missouri, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanad, Utah or St. Joseph's Indian School in South Dakota.
