Judy Chaiken, 84 years old of Overland Park, KS died November 1st, 2023. A graveside burial will be held at KI Blue Ridge Cemetery at 1:00pm Sunday, November 5. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Judith's name to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org/?form=alz_donate
Judy was born July 27th, 1939 to the late Lewis and Irene Tave in Erie, PA. She received her degree in nursing from Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. Working as a surgical and registered nurse in Buffalo, Cleveland, OH and Kansas City. She married Edward Chaiken in 1966 and relocated to Overland Park, KS. Where they raised their family and made lifelong friendships in the same community for 54 years.
An avid bridge and mahjong player allowed her to create long lasting friendships within the community. She loved spending time playing piano, games, walking with friends through the neighborhood and yoga. She always had a special connection for all animals, making them part of the family.
She is survived by sons – Matthew and Lee Chaiken, brother William (Bill) Tave, sister Denise Gottlieb and her husband Howard Gottlieb. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Chaiken. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

I remember when Eddie first brought Judy to Nippersink to meet the family. They had just gotten married. I had never met anyone from Erie. Pa. It was great meeting my new aunt.
