Judith Elaine Clendenin, affectionately known as Judy, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 14, 1946, in Birmingham, AL to Edith and Berlan Alred, Judy grew up in Graysville, AL and lived much of her life in Adamsville, AL.She graduated Minor High School Class of 1964. In 1966, she married Gary Lane Clendenin, with whom she shared a loving life until his passing.

Judy dedicated much of her career as a secretary at Busby Trucking. She was a devoted long time member of Adamsville Church of Christ, where her faith and community spirit shone brightly.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Lane Clendenin, and her parents, Edith and Berlan Alred. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Black and Col. Kevin Black; her grandchildren, Gary Lane Black, Kaleb Black, Elizabeth Black, and Isabella Black; her brother, James B. Alred, Jr., and his wife, Peggy Alred; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Crestview Memorial Gardens on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adamsville Church of Christ in Judy's memory.

She will by deeply missed by all who knew her for her gentle heart and unwavering kindness.
