Judith Alice Cole, 80, of Kingsford Heights, IN, passed away Tuesday May, 14, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born September 15, 1943 in La Porte, IN, the daughter of Russell Monroe and Dolores (McKeehan) Eskridge.
On December 2, 1967, in Benton Harbor, MI, Judith married Earl Junior Cole. They lived in Koontz Lake and Walkerton before settling in Kingsford Heights in 1969. For many years, Judith managed Knoll Brothers Convenience Store before retiring in 2010. She was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 434 Woman’s Auxiliary, where she cooked many delicious meals. She enjoyed baking, making candy, and created many delights, especially around the holidays. Judith was an avid bowler for many years and a diehard Cubs and Colts fan. Over the years, she raised cats, loved to dance, and along with Earl, collected clocks from around the world. Her greatest passion, though, was her family, and she will be greatly missed by them all.
Her survivors include her husband of 56 years, Earl; her daughters, Alice (Ron) Riedstra of La Porte, IN Crystal Jones of Peru, IN, Delanna (Brian) Hurley of La Porte, IN, Elayne (Dusty) Hicks of Union Mills, IN; son Bobby (Triecia) Roberts of La Porte, IN; sister Jeri Ryan of La Porte, IN; grandchildren Valerie, Matthew, Amber, Amanda, Travis, Kyle, Gavin, Haley, Jordan, Kevin, Kayla, Koral, Kyle, and Taylor, her part time angel caregiver; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; many nieces and nephews, including “her birdie”, Robin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN, where the family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday May 17, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday May 18 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday May 18 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor John DeSabatine, officiating.
