Judith Crosby Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 17, 2025.
We lost our beloved grand matriarch, queen bee, and eagle, Judith Ann "JuJu" Crosby, on August 10, 2025, in Spokane, Washington. She was 81 years old. Born on July 21, 1944, in Spokane to the late Richard and Lois Crosby. Judith lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Judith's early years were rooted in Spokane, where she attended St. Patrick's grade school and later graduated from Holy Names Academy. Her strong foundation in education and values carried her through a remarkable 39-year career with Sears. Throughout her tenure at Sears, she served in many different roles and ultimately retired as the store manager in Missoula, Montana. Judith cherished the people she worked with and built lasting relationships that extended far beyond the workplace.

Family was at the heart of everything Judith did. She is survived by her daughters Kimberly Linebarger and Holly Thompson (Keven), both of Spokane; grandchildren Kayla Ray (Levi), Jessica Clark, Kyle Linebarger (Katelyn), Katie Peone (Colton), and Emily Linebarger; and great-grandchildren Kenna, Everly & Hudson Clark, Delilah Winthurst, Calum Linebarger, and soon-to-arrive baby boy Peone. Her siblings-brother Ray Crosby and sisters Janet Gregerson (Ron), Debi Reynolds (Mike), and Lonna Christiansen (Alan)-also carry forward her memory with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Lois Crosby; her sister Darlene Hayes; and her brother Ronald Crosby.

Judith had a zest for life that was contagious. She participated in all team sports and developed a lifelong passion for horses and horse racing. She found joy on the golf course, at the casino, on skis gliding down snowy slopes, snowmobiling, water skiing, or boating across the waters of Coeur d' Alene Lake, Priest Lake, or the San Juan Islands. Vacations with family were treasured times filled with laughter, games, obstacle courses-and always decorations-because Judith believed every moment together was worth celebrating.

Her generous spirit extended far beyond her family circle. For over six years she volunteered at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center's Skybridge West unit in Spokane, offering comfort to families of heart surgery patients. She also flew with Angel Flights West to help transport children and adults needing medical care between Spokane and Seattle. Her dedication to service did not stop there-she gave back to both the Spokane and Missoula communities through various volunteer efforts because she believed deeply that everyone should contribute in their own way.

Anyone who knew Judith would describe her as loyal and loving with a heart of gold. She had a unique ability to make those around her feel special-whether through a thoughtful gesture or simply by being present with warmth and sincerity. Her presence lit up every room she entered.

Judith Ann Crosby was truly a one-of-a-kind precious lady whose absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who loved her most. We will miss her every single day.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on September 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at North Church 8303 N. Division St.

Love you to the moon and back Gram.
Although I had 34 amazing years to be with you, I still feel like we had a lot more trouble to get into.
I will miss your sass, your advice, your big bright smile and your calming voice too.
Boy, did we all cherish the time we had with you.
I will talk to you every morning and everynight to. Even though I know you are already watching all that we do.
I´ll make sure your legacy is honored and your stories are retold. I´ll celebrate the little things and the big things daring to be bold.
I´ll wrap this up just to say you were the best Gram in each and every-way, and I will miss you every single day.
