Judith Marie Defrates, 56, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 14, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Judie was born on October 21, 1969, in Battle Creek MI, to Jenny and Mike Lester. She was proceeded in death by her mother Jenny Henson, and her father Mike Lester. She was married to her loving husband, Darryl Defrates, with whom she spent 39 years. She is survived by sisters, Angie Lester, Tia (Mike) Justice, Joyel Lester, and Kimberly (Greg) Miller, as well as brother Chad Hansen. Her nieces and nephews whom she absolutely adored, Jesi Minor, Tyler Minor, Ashley (Terrell) Blakes, Jordan Lawson, Christian (Samantha) Justice, Dominic Ochampaugh, Hannah Lawson, and Nichole Hansen. As well as beloved sister-in- laws, Beverly (Dick) Vincent , Judy Schultz, and Sheryl Defrates.
Judie enjoyed weekly game nights with her wonderful group of friends. She is tremendously loved and will be missed dearly. She had a big, wonderful heart that she often shared with others. Her last amazing decision was to donate her organs to help give another the chance to experience a full life and we have never been more proud of her.
