Judith L. "Judy" Fry, age 81, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Avenue at Wooster Care and Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health.
She was born on October 26, 1944 in Ashtabula, Ohio to John F. Kapala and Wanda S. (Crawford) Kapala-Worden. Judy graduated from Conneaut Valley High School in Conneautville, Pennsylvania. Eventually Judy moved from Pennsylvania and lived in the Medina area before moving to Wooster, where she spent the rest of her life.
Judy married Robert C. "Bob" Fry on November 22, 1975 in Florida. Bob went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 1998.
Judy's professional career in accounting started after high school at Albro Packing Company in Springboro, Pennsylvania. These skills provided the opportunity for Judy to move to Ohio to work as an Accounting Clerk for the H. W. Madison Company, Medina/J. M. Smucker Company, Orrville; an Accounts Payable Clerk then Office Manager at Tru-Fit Products Corporation, Medina; a Customer Service Representative for Rubbermaid Office Products, Wooster; and an Accounts Payable Processor at Rubbermaid Financial Services, Wooster. She ended her career in accounting with Rayco Manufacturing, Wooster. Judy LOVED her work.
Judy was an active member of Wooster Nazarene Church, enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and feeding birds. She adored her dog Spanky.
She is survived by her stepsons David W. Fry and Joel R. Fry; stepdaughters Roberta I. Parker and Christine M. Cover; brother Ronald J. (Eloise Meeker) Kapala; sisters Dorothy A. (Terry) Lawrence, Joan F. (Robert Smith) Galentine, Darlene K. (Gary) Graham and Bette Jean "B. J." (Michael) Kukulka; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she is preceded in death by her infant sister Angela M. Kapala, her stepfather Howard D. Worden, sisters Shirley W. Brown and Mary Jo (Russell) King, sister-in-law Carol A. (Ronald) Kapala and nephew Dean A. (Debra) Brown.
Entombment will follow the committal service at 12:00 pm (noon) on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster at the Mausoleum Chapel. Pastor Jeremy Stasiowski will be officiating.
