Judith Clare Gossett

Judith Clare Gossett, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Judy was born November 4, 1937 and was raised in Quincy and Springfield, Illinois. She graduated from Northwestern University with an accounting degree. While attending college she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, was an avid softball player and participated in theater and dance productions. It was during her time at college that she met the love of her life, William Earl Gossett. After marrying on Aug 8, 1959, Judy and Bill lived in Niagara Falls, NY; Houston, TX; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Northbrook, IL; New Canaan, CT; and Williamsburg, VA. Together, they traveled the United States and the world by car, camper, boat, motor home and airplane.

Judy enjoyed playing the piano and participating in bowling, tennis and paddle tennis leagues. As an active participant in the Methodist Church, she volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and was part of a group that organized receptions for grieving families after funerals.

Judy had a great love for family and she would often travel to visit and spend time with her children, grandchildren and cousins. She was always happy to have her home filled with family and friends while preparing holiday meals. Judy nourished our bodies and our hearts.

Survivors include her children, daughter Tania and husband Brian Van Deusen in Connecticut, son Bill and wife Lisa Gossett in Texas, daughter Pam and husband John Williams in Ohio, and six grandsons: Nate May, Saunders May, and Kyle Currier; Will Gossett; Nicholas Williams and Scott Williams. She is also survived by her niece, Anita Balaski in Missouri.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband William Earl Gossett, father Charles Ross Miskell, mother Hanna Friederika Gladys (Spilker) Miskell and sister Jeanette Massey.
