Judith Christine "Judy" Hewson

Judith Christine "Judy" (Berglund) Hewson of Epping, NH, passed away peacefully at Exeter Hospital on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Judy was born in Needham, MA to the late Raymond and Thelma (MacGray) Berglund on January 9, 1942 and grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Judy was known for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and genuine generosity. She gave freely of her time and kindness, always placing others before herself and offering support whenever it was needed. She raised her two sons in Billerica, Massachusetts, creating a warm, caring home and a foundation of love that shaped their lives.

In 1994, Judy moved to Winnisquam, New Hampshire, to live with her mother, Thelma. During her years there, she was an active and devoted member of the Second Baptist Church and worked at Piche's Ski Shop in Gilford, where she formed meaningful friendships that lasted a lifetime.

In 2010, she settled in Epping, New Hampshire, where she made numerous close friends and kept busy with activities at the local senior center. She found joy in being close to family, a member of the First Baptist Church of Brentwood, and also in traveling to tropical destinations with dear friends-trips that brought her warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.

Judy is survived by her sons, Alan Hewson and his wife Kristine of Epping, NH, and Donald Hewson of Lunenburg, MA. She is also survived by her brothers, Warren Berglund and his wife Bernice of Burlington, MA, and Ken Berglund and his wife Grace of Lincoln, NH and Seminole, FL; her sister, Noni Smith of Sacramento, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Berglund Carr, and her father, Raymond Berglund.

Judy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her steadfast compassion, loyalty, generosity, and the love she shared so freely.

Calling hours will be held at Brewitt Funeral Home (9 Pleasant Street, Epping) on Sunday, December 14th from 3pm to 5pm and funeral services will be held in the same location on Monday, December 15th at 11am. Burial will be private in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
